I am Simone, a Software Engineer based in the Zurich area. My expertise covers the full stack, from frontend to backend, and from database to deployment.
The area I like the most is the frontend, mainly around the React ecosystem, TypeScript and CSS. Backend-wise I am familiar with the .NET stack, but I am starting to experiment with the full TypeScript stack. I love to experiment with the latest technologies, keep myself up to date with and play around with recently released APIs.
My preference goes to simple, clean but beautiful UI. I also believe a good looking product must have good looking, easy to maintain and self-documented code. I like to think that, just like a great man always has a great woman behind, great UI has great code.
When I am not coding, I spend most of the time with my lovely family and I keep myself busy with many hobbies.
Sport is an essential part of my life. I am convinced that the Latin motto "mens sana in corpore sano" is valid, and I made it my life motto. Jogging, swimming, biking and hiking are my favorite "solo" sports. Nevertheless, I treasure team sports too, not only for the fun, but for the team spirit and the fact that understanding and fitting the team dynamics is a key to success in a working environment as well. In this sense, I am a futsal player, and I am part of a volleyball team. Whenever I can, I play padel.
Another important part of my life is music. I play the guitar and I love to go to concerts. I enjoy every kind of music, when there is technique and passion behind, and it is well played. My favorite genre is adult/progressive rock, but I space to many other genres (Jazz, Blues, Metal, Classical, Opera, etc.).
Being true to my Italian roots, I adore food and cooking in general. Other passions of mine are reading, photography and travelling.
